Have Fun Planning A St Patrick's Day Party

Every party begins with invitations, and your St. Patrick's Day Holiday will be no exception. What better way to begin your St. Paddy's Day festivities than with hand made Shamrock invitations? To begin, you will need plenty of sheets of white card stock. Fold it to fit, and cut four green hearts, for the shamrock leaves, and a long triangle for the stem, from bright green construction paper. Glue this to the outside of the card stock and decorate using plain white glue and green glitter. Use standard card stock envelopes or more green construction paper and glitter to make envelopes. Be sure to include all relevant information for your St. Patrick's Day Holiday party such as when and where, a map to the party location, and any special instructions such as wearing green!

To decorate for your St. Patrick's Day Holiday, use large plastic replicas of black pots, and fill them with things like candy coins or coin barrettes. Weave strands of red, yellow, blue, and green crepe paper to form streamers from the ceilings. This will represent the rainbow that leads mortals to the leprechaun's pot of gold. Make more shamrocks like you used for your invitations, and hang them from windows and ceilings with tape or fishing line. Another option to decorate for your St Patrick's Day Holiday is to make rainbow and shamrock garland to hang from doorways.

Green, white, and yellow balloons may be inflated and strewn or hung around the room. The yellow ones can be representative of the leprechaun's gold. A built in activity can be to insert small slips of paper into the balloons. At an appropriate time, guests can burst a balloon, and either read the Irish proverb, fact, or saying they find inside their balloon. Simply have a quiz containing these facts ready, so that afterwards, guests can be quizzed and the one with the most correct answers wins a prize!
